I guess that's the mystery of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. 
I noticed this little discrepancy when playing Blue rescue team (so you'd really only understand this comic if you've ever played the game. 
). I used my own team members for this comic. I'm the Bulbasaur, & my partner is Zapp, the Pikachu. Together (along with a bunch of others who tag along) make up Team Whisper.

The Houndor politely refused of course, and I had to haul my team through almost ALL of Magma Cavern for a mystery prize and 500 poke. The prize was an oran berry.
